Cap AI: Titles, Summaries, and Chapters
Cap AI writes the boring parts for you. After a recording is transcribed, Cap generates a title, a summary, and chapters automatically. Rolling out gradually.
Features
- Automatic titles - New Caps get a descriptive name instead of a timestamp.
- Summary tab - A concise summary of the recording appears on the share page.
- Chapters - The player is split into chapters so viewers can jump to the part they need.
Auto Zoom, Self Hosting URL & Bug Fixes

Higher Quality Recordings, Compression Options & Bug Fixes
- Exported videos now use AAC audio for compatibility with social sites.
- Video quality can be controlled with compression options.
- Recordings on macOS now use native resolution again.
- Recording bitrate is no longer a fixed value, so higher resolution displays should use higher bitrates.
- (Experimental) Cursor capture now accounts for window and area offsets.
A Redesigned Dashboard
The dashboard has a new look. Cleaner navigation, a refreshed Caps grid, and better empty states across the app.

- New layout - A tidier sidebar and header make it faster to move between your Caps, shared Caps, and settings.
- Refreshed Cap cards - Thumbnails, titles, and actions are easier to scan at a glance.

System Audio, Custom Cursor, Audio Mixing & Fixes/Enhancements

No Mic Recording Fix
- Fixes a regression from the last release where recording without a microphone selected would cause an error.
Recording Restart Mic Fix
- Fixes an issue where microphone audio would not be captured after restarting a recording.
- Rive-powered animations in the Upgrade window now load properly.
- Main windows now sits on top of all other windows.
Windows fixes
- Fixes a regression that caused much slower exporting on Windows.
- Pause/resume in instant mode now actually works on macOS.
- Updated pricing window UI.
Bug fixes + removed screenshots
- Opening the main window won't open the camera window unless a camera is selected.
- Pausing in Instant Mode now works on macOS; we're disabling it on Windows until it works properly.
- Editing and exporting should be smoother on macOS thanks to some video decoding optimizations.
Bug fixes
- Camera now closes when recording finishes, not when main window closes.
- Stops Cap from quitting on Windows when all windows are closed.
Stability improvements, new export dialog, recording behaviour options
- Mac Intel builds no longer crash on startup.
- Fixes macOS crashes that happened when closing windows.
- New Export dialog which will soon support more export configurations.
- Studio recordings will now automatically open in the Editor, and the main window will now close when recording starts.

Windows Release + Bug fixes

- Pressing space in the editor when not hovering the timeline will resume from the correct time.
- Camera and recording control windows are now guaranteed to stay on top of the recording area occluder.
- Manual zoom selector now previews the frame that zooming starts on.
- Adjusting manual zoom won't cause the selector to consume keyboard events.
